Potatoes gateau


  • 1 kg of peeled potatoes
  • 150 g of ham steak into cubes
  • 150 g of scamorza cheese
  • 150 g of grated parmesan cheese
  • 3eggs
  • 50 g of butter
  • 250 ml of milk
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt



Cook the peeled potatoes into a water pot, when they will be well cooked drain from the water and, helping with a potato masher, squash them in a bowl. Let the squashed potatoes get cold for a while. Add the eggs, the soft butter into cubes, mix well and pour the milk. Add scamorza cheese and ham steak both cut into cubes, the parmesan and the salt. Grease a casserole dish with the butter and sprinkle all over it the breadcrumbs, even around the side edges. Pour inside the mixture and, helping with a spoon, level it well on the whole surface.

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on it and add some butter flakes. Cook in the preheated oven at 180° for about 45 minutes.

When the top is golden pull out the gateau from the oven, cut to taste and serve.
